The Glorious Series One Pro is currently available as a group buy from the Glorious Forge, and it’s looking like glorious is aiming squarely at the Logitech G Pro X Superlight. Both mice have similar specs and are shaped almost identically, so we thought we’d put them up against each other to see which one is worth the buy.

From the base stats, you can see just how similar these two mice are, on the surface at least. However, gaming mice are very particular things, meaning that there are more things to consider aside from the statistics. Let’s get into more detail and see where these mice are similar, and where they diverge from one another.

The shape

First up, let’s consider the most personal and subjective aspect of mouse design, the shape. It’s no secret that Logitech created a beloved and performance-focused shape with the original G Pro all the way back in 2016. With a higher arch and a shorter overall length this shape was perfect for claw or fingertip grips and these grip types happen to be the most common for esports professionals. This made it unsurprising when it was rapidly adopted by pro players like s1mple.

Logitech elected to avoid changing up the shape for the G Pro X Superlight too much, despite the scores of competitors aping the shape. This was a smart move so as to avoid alienating the esports pros that were fans of the G Pro’s shape.

This brings us to the Glorious Series One Pro’s shape. Surprising absolutely no one, it’s almost completely identical to the G Pro. this makes sense as the shape of the G Pro is considered the zenith of mouse design by a lot of people, even some here in the offices of WePC. It’s so similar in the fact that we are going to call this round a draw as the minute differences in the shape don’t matter much when the internals of one might be preferable to the other. Speaking of which, let’s get to the sensor.

The sensor

The sensor makes up the heart of a mouse’s capabilities. It dictates the DPI, CPI, IPS, Max acceleration, and polling rate. Alongside many other dorky acronyms and initialisms. Despite the nerdy nature of mouse sensors, they have a huge impact on the overall characteristics of the mouse, so it needs to be covered.

Glorious has outfitted the Series One Pro with their Glorious BAMF sensor. This is the same 19,000 DPI sensor that we first saw with the release of the Glorious Model I and it performs very well, with a 400IPS tracking speed and Pixart-influenced design. Commonly regarded as being almost entirely based on the Pixart PAW3370, this sensor has strong specs and has been well-received as accurate, reliable, and powerful enough for most applications.

The G Pro X Superlight, by comparison, has the venerable HERO 25K. This is deservedly regarded as an industry-leading sensor. This is unsurprising given the incredible specs boasted by the sensor, a huge 25,600 DPI, 400+ IPD tracking speed, and a level of efficiency far outclassing the Glorious BAMF, despite both sensors being from the same parent company, Pixart. As a result of the sheer difference in numbers, you won’t be surprised at the result of this round,

Battery life

The primary benefit of wireless gaming mice is the lack of cable. This eliminates cable drag, and therefore the need to use a bungee. Additionally, the lack of cable results in a rider, more minimal desktop, which can be a big deal for people.

Of course, we need to address the elephant in the room, which is the unreleased status of the Glorious Series One Pro. This means we can’t yet use any qualitative data to assess the validity of the 84-hour claim from Glorious. As it stands, the Logitech G Pro X Wireless is capable of a 70-hour battery life at constant motion. This is less than the purported 84 hours of Glorious. However, Glorious ahs been known as reliable concerning their battery life claim so we shall, tentatively give this one to Glorious, but we will test it when we get our hands on the Series One Pro and update this page accordingly.

Software

This round is, unfortunately, a landslide victory. This will be obvious to any of you who’ve used G Hub or Glorious Core before as one is far, far more user-friendly than the other. While Glorious Core is functional, Glorious just hasn’t had as much time to improve it to the state where it can compete with the fluidity and Clarity of G-Hub. Yes, it gets the job done, but not nearly as well.

Design

Ah yes, the most subjective and therefore most divisive round, the design. Luckily, this round isn’t as much of a one-sided victory as it would normally be as the G Pro X and Series One Pro don’t just come in black. We’ve tired of pure black color schemes over the last few years here at WePC and luckily, these mice are available in a few different colors at no extra cost.

The G Pro X Superlight is available in Pink, Black, or White. These options are clever as they run the gamut of the most popular choices in gaming peripherals, so the G Pro X can always fit into a pre-existing setup. The mouse itself is almost under-designed, with minimal logos and a simple line of text along the side reading “S U P E R L I G H T“. These aspects remain identical regardless of the color that you choose.

The Glorious Series One Pro, by comparison, is slightly more interesting when it comes to coloring. They’ve even come up with slightly weird names for each variant, Genos (Yellow), Centauri (Red), and Vidar (Blue). These differ in the scroll wheel, DPI cycle button, and the shade of gray/white in the main casing. They look great, with subtle cases and striking colored accents, which is why we give Glorious this round as they have been more creative here.

Price

While the ~$150 price of the Logitech G Pro X Superlight is generally considered to be worthwhile given the industry-leading performance of the mouse, it’s still far out of budget for most people. This contrasts with the far more accessible cost of the Glorious Series One Pro as it’s currently available for group buy purchase at $99 with free US delivery. Because of the sheer discrepancy in Price, the Winner here is obvious.
